Princess Onboard Experience

We have completed 13 cruises on Princess Cruises since 1981.  We were part of the millions of travelers drawn to cruising since its name was part of the television series, The Love Boat, in 1977 to 1986.  The fleet has grown substantially from the smaller ships of that time, evolving to the larger Grand-Class vessels.  These larger vessels keep the romantic spirit alive with their Tie the Knotsm lovely wedding chapels, where couples can be married at sea by the captain.  Princess Cruises was the first to offer this.

While onboard, Princess gives you feeling of a relaxed care-free atmosphere. This is in part due to a sophisticated use of materials and color patterns, inviting wide-open spacious decks, and multi-million dollar art collection displayed throughout the public spaces.  Princess is now offering more dining options in their Anytime Dining. Alternative dining choices include Sabatini’s, Sterling Steakhouse, and Bayou Café & Steakhouse and vary depending on the ship.

Princess allows passengers to choose up to 40 lectured classes per voyage, through their ScholarShip@Sea programs including wine seminars, computer and photography classes, cooking classes, and crafts workshops, to name a few.  To cap things off, Princess leaves you with a memorable moment on the conclusion of the second formal night in the main atrium with a champagne waterfall and multi-deck party.

In the spring of 2013 and 2014, Princess will be introducing the new Royal Princess, the first of two new generation ships that will be the largest vessels to join the fleet at 141,000 tons.  The sister ship Regal Princess will follow in 2014. These new evolutionary designed ships will have 3600 passengers and balconies on all outside staterooms.  Enhancements of the top deck include a new cantilevered SeaWalkSM
and SeaView bar, the largest Movies Under the Stars screen yet with HD, an upper-deck pool exclusively for adults, featuring private cabanas, and two deep pools with floating islands that transform into a water and light show during the evening.

If you are looking for good value, quality service, and variety of itineraries offered around the globe, then Princess Cruises is for you.

THE BIGGEST CRUISE SHIPS IN THE WORLD
Royal Caribbean International®

Since 1996, we have cruised numerous times on Royal Caribbean, and are Diamond members of the Crown and Anchor Society. Royal Caribbean has grown into the second largest Cruise Line in the World!  Currently RCI has the largest cruise ship in the world, the Symphony OTS>

Royal Caribbean has earned the reputation of having the “Wow” factor from its mega ship line of Voyager, Freedom, and now the biggest passenger ship in the world, the Oasis Class ships.  These vessels are impressive for their huge fitness centers, jogging track, in-line skating track, ice-skating rinks, indoor shopping malls, miniature golf and rock-climbing walls. You can even experience an ice-skating show, a high dive act, walk through Central Park, or take a spin on a merry-go-round.  Most ships now offer alternative dining choices such as Portofino Italian Restaurant and Chops Grill.  They also began a non-fixed My Time Dining program.

I have cruised over 60 times and thought I have seen it all.  After inspecting the Oasis back in 2010 and cruising on the Allure in 2011, I was convinced that a new era in cruising has begun. The rooms in these ships book up fast and the deluxe suite accommodations are the first to go. Royal Caribbean has set the bar very high as the leader of the mega ship line of vessels.

If you are interested in the big ship experience packed full of excitement, flexible dining choices, and a big variety of entertainment, then Royal Caribbean is a great choice.

Celebrity Experience

Celebrity Cruises® is the sister company to Royal Caribbean.  Our experience cruising with Celebrity Cruises places it between the mass-market and upscale luxury line companies.  Then great service began the moment we first went onboard for a buffet lunch and a white-gloved waiter carried our trays to our table.  Celebrity is all about experiencing additional touches of luxury, that was above and beyond that of other less expensive cruise lines.

Celebrity is all about personal service, great award-winning food, and quality entertainment, usually found on the more upscale lines that demand a much higher cost.  The age of passengers start at 40 and up, so there isn't as many families with small children as on Carnival, Norwegian Caribbean, Royal Caribbean, or Princess Cruises.

Celebrity’s luxurious cabins and suites have one of the highest guest-to-space ratios in the industry.  Passengers also feel pampered with one staff member for every two guests.  Celebrity Concierge Class is a category of stateroom available and includes over 50 added amenities and comforts.  All suites include butler service.  The new Solstice Class ships offers AquaClass staterooms with floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors leading to a balcony, a host of additional amenities, unlimited access to the AquaSpa relaxation room, and Persian Garden.

If you enjoy a modern large ship and demand a quieter experience with a taste of luxury then Celebrity is a tremendous value for the ultimate vacation experience.

Azamara Experience

Azamara Club Cruises® is a spin-off from Celebrity Cruises, which is owned by Royal Caribbean.  Azamara was formed as an upscale “deluxe” line, with two identical boutique 30,777 ton 694 passenger ships, named the Azamara Journey and Azamara Quest.  Both ships have recently undergone a $17.5 million revitalization.

The smaller size ships and higher staff-to-passenger ratio, offer a more personalized level of service than the larger ships of Celebrity.  There is the traditional mix of interior, ocean view, balcony, and suite categories.  With Azamara, butlers are provided with every stateroom, rather than the precondition of a suite, as required on other lines.  Every cabin includes a host of amenities and comforts beyond other premium lines, whereas suites offer more perks and lean towards the luxury cruise sector.

Azamara offers more exotic itineraries where many ships cannot reach.  Passengers feel a more international experience since about 50% percent of the passengers are not from the U.S.A.  Dining is based on open seating with an upscale dress code and entertainment options are not as extravagant as on larger ships, but diverse in range.  All voyages include destination experts and guest  speakers for self-enrichment lectures.

For those that enjoy the sophistication of Celebrity’s larger ships and want to journey to extraordinary destinations; want to be pampered with unparalleled personal service, and at a value well below the luxury cruise sector, the small cruise experience of Azamara is a wise choice
